How to compare different sales periods in gfknewron Market

Define your comparison periods for a customized view

What is it?

In gfknewron Market, you can now select any comparison periods you want to fit your analysis needs (in addition to the standard options of comparing your selected period vs. the prior period or the same period in the prior year).

Why do you need it?

Promotional periods or seasonal events may not always fall into the exact same month or week every year – e.g. Black Friday, Easter, or your launch period.

With the custom comparison periods you can now easily compare such an event across years next to each other, by viewing e.g. Black Friday 2024 vs. Black Friday 2023 (week 48 2024 vs. week 47 2023) to better evaluate your and your competitors’ performance.

How can you use it?

Within the Scorecard, Segmentation or Leaderboard tabs of any of the pages from Brands to Products, you can define the comparison period(s) in the insight title.

There, you can now select “custom comparison” and define one or multiple periods that you want to view on your insight.
