How to create customized groupings within a feature

Create meaningful feature segmentations in gfknewron Market

What is it?

In gfknewron Market, you can create customized groupings within a feature to be analyzed across KPIs, over time or across another data dimension.

Why do you need it?

  • Collapse a long list of feature values into segments that are meaningful for your analysis. For example, when analyzing OS Version in Mobile Computing, group Win 11 Pro, Win 11 Home, Win 11 Edu, etc. into ‘Windows 11’, and visualize its  performance against “Windows 10” while aggregating all other OS values under Others.
  • For features with numerical values like Display Size, RAM, Storage Capacity, etc. you can also create your own customized ranges so it’s aligned with how you want to segment the market.

How can you use it?

  •  You can start creating and saving your groups within a feature by clicking on ‘Custom’ in the drop-down menu in the Features page.
  •  A new Customization tray will open on the right, then choose the feature that you want to create groups for and start assigning desired values to a target group. Click on the ‘+’ sign to create a new group; all unassigned values will automatically be aggregated under Others.
  • For features with numerical values, enter the upper limit for your range and click on the ‘+’ sign to create a new range.
  • Save your sets of groupings and ranges so you can easily apply them in future.
