Survey coverage

Respondents answer the survey with regards to a single purchase they have made in the last 3 months. Fieldwork is conducted in the first weeks of each new quarter, so as an example, answers given in April fieldwork would relate to purchases made in Jan-Mar.

The point of sales data used to convert the interviews to units sold (shoppers) are therefore also sourced from the quarter preceding the week of fieldwork (Jan-Mar in the above example). This means the period asked about mirrors the period used as a unit universe. The PoS data channels used in the unit universe are listed below.
 
Purchases made from retailers outside panel market coverage are sized based on our annual coverage exercise in which local experts estimate the level of Business to Consumer coverage our Market Intelligence data has.
