January 2024

  • You are now able to select the currency to view data in on the Performance Analysis page. Select from USD, EUR, and any local currencies of countries you have access to data for.
  • Premium: perform multi-country analysis on a category on the Performance Analysis page, creating country-groups on the fly from those you have access to.
  • Minor Changes
    • A new warning message has been added to give clarity when a filter is applied that is not relevant across all categories currently in your selected context 
    • Existing warning messages have been simplified for greater clarity
    • ‘Click through’ banners (e.g. Retailer Overview > Category Leaderboard) have been removed to give more screen space to the data 

February 2024

  • To enable clients that use public email domains (e.g. hotmail, gmail) to access the platform, multi-factor authentication has been added as a requirement for those clients.
  • Key Account Data access now includes the Trading Assistant module, facilitating direct discussions between retailers and suppliers
  • Minor Changes
    • Disabled the ability to select prior periods on the Retailer Overview page while we make improvements to the YTD & MAT snapshots
    • Resolved an issue whereby currency symbols would display as ?? in certain situations 

March 2024

  • You can now register to access newron with their existing Startrack portal account, if you do not already have a newron-specific account. Select ‘Login with your StarTrack Portal account’ on the login screen to start the process.
  • Premium: gfknewron Consumer has launched Lost Shopper Stories, a retail focused module that quantifies the impact of your lost shoppers, uncovers the reasons they chose to shop elsewhere, and plan strategies to maximise future conversion 

April 2024

  • You can now combine market filters in the Products module, where your subscription allows it, to review item performance in more targeted market segments, such as channel within region
  • Premium: the Forecasting module, powered by gfknewron Predict, now offers longer-term 18 month forecasts in addition to the 26 week forecasts previously available 

May 2024

  • You can now create Collections of insights, adding charts from across the platform to build your own personal reports which can auto-refresh with the latest data, be shared with colleagues to collaborate, and be exported to Powerpoint for further action
  • The Market & Share Trend and Average Selling Price charts on the Retail Overview page can now be exported to Image or Powerpoint 

June 2024

  • The Products module now supports Limited ‘Top Items’ subscriptions, where these exist as part of legacy partnership agreements. While certain functionalities are restricted, such as filtering by item specifications, the ‘Compare’ function – including backdata for all shown items - is available, as is filtering by market segments, where your subscription allows it 
  • Minor Changes
    • Saved Filters are now shareable with your colleagues
    • Saved Filters can be expanded and collapsed to aid navigation
    • All your Saved Filters are now available across all pages, with any non-applicable elements of the filter, based on the page you are on, greyed out with a warning message 

July 2024

  • You now get access to data faster with Category Level Loading. Each category is delivered to you as soon as it is ready, without needing to wait for your other categories, letting you get a head-start on your reviews
  • Minor Changes
    • The ‘Feature view’ within the Products module is now exportable to Excel 

August 2024

  • Premium: We have enabled deeper data combinations, letting you combine up to 4 separate data elements such as channels, brands, features and geography to perform analysis on more targeted market segments. 
    While this is currently a premium feature, we will be gradually rolling out a smaller increase – combining 3 data types, up from the current limit of 2 – to most clients over Q4’24 and Q1’25
  • Minor Changes
    • Dropdowns within the Filter Tray have been improved, with the reintroduction of both multi-select checkboxes and type-to-search 

September 2024

  • The Products page now has YTD & MAT timeframes for reviewing item performance in aggregate over a longer term, smoothing monthly or weekly volatility to reveal the consistent top sellers

October 2024

  • We have launched the Explore page, a unification and replacement of the Category Leaderboard and Performance Analysis pages that brings the best of both together, including trend and segmentation charts at cross-category level, and custom grouping extended to all data types
  • Minor Changes
    • New ‘KPI Tiles’ have been rolled out to replace KPI information blocks on the Retailer Overview, Trading Assistant and Products pages, consistent with the new Explore page  

December 2024

  • We have expanded the Category Features available to all, adding over 200 new features across the board to segment categories with to increase the potential of your analysis
  • Premium: we’ve introduced a new Extended Category Features tier, which adds a further 400 new features on top of those added for everyone, doubling the number of category features compared to those previously available
